Don't the minimum wage laws apply, Ann?

Ann,

If a blog picks up advertisers and becomes a featured blog somewhere else, like on Workforce, and I assume has a revenue stream, wouldn't they be able at that point to pay a small amount to the contributors?

I realize the Cafe is not at that point yet. I clearly remember when they were recruiting for Fist Full of Talent contributors, that they mentioned that there was a small fee paid. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

Ann,

Re: Blogging. I love your site just for the wonderful exchange that is provided here. That is of tremendous value to me. As well, I like to see myself as a leader and like the idea of mixing it up with the other great leaders and minds that you have here.

I think that most of us at this site do it for the shear joy of sharing with others, gaining a different perspective, and keeping up to date and challenged by those that contribute.

Thanks, Ann, for a wonderful gathering hole for all of us that frequent the cafe.

Dear Klaus:

I'm pretty sure the minimum wage doesn't apply here.

FOT had its own unique genesis, which included a sponsorship that enabled fees. For more info, please go to JL and KD, not me.

The future of the Cafe will, to a great extent, depend on where the blogging team decides to take it. That's our collective decision.

For now, we would prefer that any new contributors sign on simply for the adventure and - as Vita so nicely puts it - the sheer joy of sharing their ideas and perspectives with the greater community.

Vita:

Thanks for the love. We're so glad that you DO frequent the Cafe!
