We at the Compensation Cafe are looking to add a contributor to our award winning blogging team. Could that be you? Here are a few details.
Rewards of Cafe Blogging
- An avenue into blogging without having to start and run your own site. Or, if you are a current compensation blogger, increased exposure for you and your site through blogging at the Cafe.
- Active participation in thought leadership for the field of compensation ... and a place in the awesome larger community of talent management bloggers.
- An opportunity to put your ideas and opinions out there for others to read, consider and discuss.
- Pay that is competitive with what most of us who blog in the talent space earn; in other words, zippo, nada ... nothing.
Requirements for Cafe Blogging
- Substantial experience in the field of employee rewards.
- Solid writing skills and the ability to deliver straight talk, original thinking and caffeinated discussion on everything compensation.
- Ability to blog under your own identity and with full disclosure of where you work.
- Ability and willingness to blog on approximately a weekly basis.
Interested? Shoot me an email (abares@alturaconsultinggroup.com). We will ask for a resume and a couple of sample posts.
Interested, but not able/willing to commit to weekly blogging? We also feature guest bloggers as part of our Friday Special at the Cafe series. Again, email me if this is something you'd like to pursue.

Don't the minimum wage laws apply, Ann?

Ann,
If a blog picks up advertisers and becomes a featured blog somewhere else, like on Workforce, and I assume has a revenue stream, wouldn't they be able at that point to pay a small amount to the contributors?
I realize the Cafe is not at that point yet. I clearly remember when they were recruiting for Fist Full of Talent contributors, that they mentioned that there was a small fee paid. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

Ann,
Re: Blogging. I love your site just for the wonderful exchange that is provided here. That is of tremendous value to me. As well, I like to see myself as a leader and like the idea of mixing it up with the other great leaders and minds that you have here.
I think that most of us at this site do it for the shear joy of sharing with others, gaining a different perspective, and keeping up to date and challenged by those that contribute.
Thanks, Ann, for a wonderful gathering hole for all of us that frequent the cafe.

Dear Klaus:
I'm pretty sure the minimum wage doesn't apply here.
FOT had its own unique genesis, which included a sponsorship that enabled fees. For more info, please go to JL and KD, not me.
The future of the Cafe will, to a great extent, depend on where the blogging team decides to take it. That's our collective decision.
For now, we would prefer that any new contributors sign on simply for the adventure and - as Vita so nicely puts it - the sheer joy of sharing their ideas and perspectives with the greater community.
Vita:
Thanks for the love. We're so glad that you DO frequent the Cafe!
