Glad to see this reminder that almost any reinforcement technique that can be applied with stock can be emulated with approaches that involve no sacrifice of owners' equity. Many of the disadvantages of stock options can also be avoided with other remuneration devices that permit finer controls. The world of long-term incentives is immense, with room for many approaches.
