I often wonder how successful each of would be if we had all of the coaching, support and motivation we needed.

I surprises me that to many companies roll out complex compensation programs that require weeks and months to work out the details, then expect their staff to understand and act on them based on a flyer and a powerpoint.

Dan, brilliant analogy. Slogging along in the dark is no fun for anyone, especially when you can't see any progress. I'll have to refer to this in a future post on my own blog.
