Ever wondered - or been challenged to prove - whether your compensation system is truly consistent and equitable? Well, help and good advice is on its way, via Episode 3 of our new Cafe podcast series!
On Tuesday, September 27, 11:00 to 11:45 Pacific Time, my Compensation Cafe colleagues and I -- along with a special guest Jon Hyman, author of the Ohio Employers Law Blog -- will be tackling the challenging and controversial topic of pay equity.
Although the gender pay gap is getting most of the press and attention these days, it's important that employers look at pay equity for ALL employees. The only way you can know, for sure, that your compensation system is internally consistent and equitable is to conduct an audit of your data. With proper planning and design, a compensation self-audit can be a valuable tool for assessing your exposure to a discrimination claim and developing a world-class compensation system.
Questions we'll be covering in our conversation include:
- What's the point? Why should you bother with an internal pay equity audit?
- What does a compensation self-audit look like?
- Common red flags to look for and the dangers of "tinkering".
- How you can keep your pay self-audits protected, privileged and confidential.
