Derek what a great post! It is so true! I remember a company I worked with decided to give "telecommuting" privileges as a recognition reward worldwide.

Well --- in places where people live in high-rise apartments (most of Asia) that are notoriously tiny -- the last thing someone wants is to telecommute. That means staying at home with the kids, granny, and maybe an "auntie" or two crammed together.

They actually look forward to going to the office (even though a long commute) just to get away from home!
