Interesting survey results. I agree that given how CFOs feel about the usefulness of HR --- HR needs to be the one that initiates a relationship. And once again they can do it by understanding where the CFO comes from, what they are charged with doing, etc. This is good example where the value of working together wouldn't be 1+1= 2. It could be 3.

Compensation pros need to learn how to approach finance people from the perspective of finance and they will be amazed by the response they get.
