Derek - Spot on! Much like the dreaded "So, tell me about yourself . " question in an interview.

Another statement to avoid is the one that brings the kiss of death in an employment interview: "I want to be in HR because I love working with people."

My most impressive positive feedback was an action whereby the executive demonstrated complete confidence in my professional ability to accurately read and appropriately handle an extremely volatile political situation into which he threw me with no notice being possible. He showed full trust.

Very good and practical advise. Given the cutting edge of human resources it is necessary to avoid these three things to get outstanding results. When fedback is shared regularly in a positive and constructive manner with willingness to help it eorks.
