There seem to be at least two drastically different perspectives about a pandemic issue. Two levels/types of concern are involved.

One is general public health, which may require employers to adopt more aggressive "quarantine" policies to literally forbid seriously ill workers from spreading germs in the common workplace. Government subsidies may become available, in the event that national pandemic mitigation emergency rules are issued. The second is short-term company cost for preventive measures vital for long-term survival (literally, perhaps) but more expensive in the short term.

Either way companies need to have a preparedness plan. And Comp pros need to have business perspectives in mind when drafting such a plan --- not just legal requirements
