there is no company in my opinion ,respecting the employees as they deserves and no employees respecting their employer or doing their job at the high energy level as if it was their own company.
so lets be realistic . no hands cleans better your hands than yours.
it is a simple opinion and you have all the right to contradict me if you have an argument ? could explain how a manager at a multinationals that has a profit income of over 10 bilion usd ,should be satisfiyed with 2000 usd /month and still believe it is what he deserve ?

Can't speak for Derek, but I have witnessed companies and public employers where mutual appreciation and respect was a reality. You have my sympathy for your obviously different experience. Just because you have not seen it, that doesn't support your broad sweeping cynical generality.

Wonder where you work? $24,000 a year is barely above the current $23,600 US FLSA short test exemption threshold figure. It is quite rare to find any legitimate "manager" making that little, especially one managing a function at a multi-billion dollar global firm. All people are different and many make $24,000 or less. Bet they all believe they "deserve" more, but personal beliefs don't create pay obligations.

This quote is not meant to address touati's specific situation (I don't have near enough information to do that), but is a general comment on the value of the job versus the value of the person. Good companies pay attention to both.

An insightful man sent this to me (along with many other thoughts) once a good while ago. It probably looks rather familiar to Jim. :0)

Every employee should know his or her own worth and be willing to pursue opportunities that value the person as they should be - both in terms of base compensation and in ongoing, frequent recognition.
