Editor's Note: The practice of performance management is evolving quickly. We are pleased to feature this announcement from Gerry Ledford, one of our profession's leading scholars, introducing a new academic study focused on leading edge performance management practices.
I am leading a major study on cutting edge performance management at the Center for Effective Organizations, working with Ed Lawler and George Benson. WorldatWork is funding the project. We are studying companies that are using one or more of three practices:
- Ratingless appraisal
- Continuous (e.g. monthly/quarterly) feedback rather than annual
- Crowd-sourced performance feedback using social media
Please participate if your company qualifies. While users of these practices have been very prominent in the media (e.g., Adobe, Microsoft, G.E., Accenture), we believe that there are only a few dozen companies are using these practices. That means that every case is important in getting a good sample.
The following link will take you to the study announcement, which includes links to an information sheet about the study and a link to the 10-minute survey on the topic, please click here or see http://ow.ly/Rctoh.
If you know of other companies that are using one or more of these practices, please feel free to forward the link to your contacts in those companies.
If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected] or Alice Mark at [email protected].
Thanks!
