Couldn't agree with you more, Chuck! Well said.

Human motivations come from individual values. Anything you don't value will not be "motivational" because it does not serve your personal interests. The "employee value proposition" term is a magical summary phrase that best captures all the simplicities and complexities inherent in the compensation and total rewards field.

Although I probably use the word trio every week, others might forget it even though they unconsciously recognize its critical importance. Like breathable air, it may be so obvious that it is rarely mentioned, because effective HR management requires reliance on the concept.

One good thing about all cash, people can spend it as they see fit to meet their individual needs which saves the company a lot of work and being second guessed by employees who don't get what they need and want. It's the cutting edge.
