Well said, Chuck. I'm proudest when identified as an "apostle of ambiguity" because any answer not prefaced by an I.D. (It Depends) invites error. Thou shalt not prescribe without first performing thy diagnosis.

Every prediction has a standard error and the outliers will kill you every time you assume they don't apply. Experts are never as certain as amateurs. There is a reason for the name given to second-year students in high school or college.

Nice post yourself, Jim. You've packed in a number of one-liners here that I'm going to shamelessly copy.

Experts are well known to only steal from the best, but you are welcome to use my shoddy offerings any time, Chuck. Would appreciate attribution when appropriate: i.e., when admired ... but expect denial of source when unappreciated, of course. ;-)
