Funny how I can always tell a Jim Brennan post in the first few sentences...

I agree some may end up at SEP St after repeatedly not having their needs met on WIIFM Way.

Key take away, know your audience when communicating. Articulate why it is the manager's or CEO's problem and how your fix will result in something for them while resolving the problem.

Thanks for lightening the somewhat dark tone of my treatment of self-interest, Karen. Chuck covered the objectively neutral dynamics better in his prior article, while I veered into the hopefully more rare but more dangerous situations.
