It is a good reminder. You can't know what will work if you don't REALLY know what doesn't. You can't know what people think and feel if you don't actually talk to them. There is no way to assume that the numbers, metrics and goals you are getting are factual unless you do the work to investigate.

So right, Dan. "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." While perfect certainty is impossible in an imperfect world, you gotta do your best to verify what has been presented as irrefutable fact before you make your typically B.A.D. decision (http://www.compensationcafe.com/2014/12/all-decisions-are-bad-decisions.html).
