Thank you, Dan, for reminding us "number-crunchers" that people count. The effectiveness of Total Rewards programs and systems depend on human personalities as well as good designs and accurate computations.

When I continually say, "not all rewards jingle," I mean MORE than "some reinforcements are not monetary." Humans vary infinitely. Each can have different motivations and behavioral habits, whether inborn or learned. Consequences of performance must be tailored to fit the individual worker. Some people thrive on conditions that are toxic to others. There is no standard approach to remuneration that always succeeds.

Your analogies always ring like gold!
